Report: Chris Polian a ‘Serious Candidate’

Jaguars director of player personnel Chris Polian has emerged as a “serious candidate” for the Eagles’ personnel exec opening, according to a report.

The Inquirer’s Jeff McLane notes that Polian recently had a second interview for the opening.

Polian served three years (2009 to 2011) as the Colts vice president and GM before being fired. The son of Bill Polian, Chris started his career with Indianapolis in 1998 and served a variety of roles (director of pro scouting from 1998 to 2000; assistant director of football operations from 2001 to 2003; assistant GM/football operations in 2004, vice president of football operations from 2005 to 2009).

He spent one season (2012) as an executive scout for the Atlanta Falcons.

In Polian’s three years as the Colts’ GM, their first-round picks were RB Donald Brown (27th), edge rusher Jerry Hughes (31st) and offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo (22nd). None of the 21 players drafted by the Colts in those three years made a Pro Bowl.
