On-Duty Philly Officers Have Lovers’ Quarrel
A pair of on-duty, uniformed Philly cops — partners who were apparently romantic partners during their off-hours — got into a physical altercation on Friday night.
NBC 10 reports the officers weren’t far from police headquarters when they began to fight.
Sources tell NBC10 the two officers were having an affair and the alleged assault is being investigated as a possible domestic dispute.
According to investigators, the female officer, who has worked in the department for nearly 20 years, suffered facial injuries, including fractures and bruising, and was treated at a local hospital. They have not yet revealed her condition.
The male officer is currently on desk duty and his gun was confiscated pending the outcome of the investigation.
Internal Affairs is leading the investigation.
