Giovanni's Room Re-Opening
Friday is the much-anticipated re-opening of what is arguably the nation's most famous gay bookstore, Giovanni's Room. Now operated by Philadelphia AIDS Thrift, the store will now carry secondhand clothing, furniture, and jewelry. Back 2 Basics: DJ Showcase Round 1
Stimulus Philly presents their ever popular queer dance party Back 2 Basics this Saturday at Tabu, featuring guest DJs pumping the best jams for a hot night of entertainment. Expect to hear DJ Trish and DJ ShyE spinning Top 40, hip-hop, Latin, old school jams, reggae, dancehall, and mashups, and there's always a boatload of sick drink specials. Two Tux Weddings Presents LGBT Wedding Expo
Thinking about walking down the isle? Two Tux Weddings presents its first annual LGBT Wedding Expo at the Morris House Hotel. Stop by to get a complementary pomegranate champagne while browsing the numerous gay-friendly vendors. If you're looking to get your hair fried, dyed, and laid to the side, Sunday is a great day to do it; it's the Philadelphia-area celebration of HopeCuts, where stylists will donate 100% of their daily proceeds to fight HIV/AIDS and cancer. Out in the Park Rainbow Pride Picnic
An afternoon of performances and fun await guests at the South Jersey Rock the Rainbow Pride Picnic. Guests at Cooper River Park can expect to see Kalil Valentino, Rob de Anthony, Icon Ebony-Fierce, and DJ Jeminii, amongst others. There's even a voguing contest. Now, that's a gay picnic!
