Philly homeboy Bradley Cooper is ever closer to his big night at the Oscars, where he’s nominated for Best Actor. Probably because of that, this old clip of Cooper on Inside the Actor’s Studio—as a student—has been making the rounds this week:

At Glamour, writer Marilyn Angelo says: “Let’s talk about the hair, the slightly baggy blue buttondown and the super intense forward lean. … Those three factors combined lead me to believe that this is Bradley in his ac-tor stage, i.e. that phase in an artist’s life when they’re so enraptured by their craft, they’re absolutely impossible to be around socially. But aren’t we glad he went through this stage? We are. We certainly are.”
