Philadelphia, Pro Union

First was the behemoth steakhouse Union Trust, then the Philadelphia Union soccer team. Next up will be the Union Tavern bar at 15th and Sansom. And now we find out that the former Spaghetti Warehouse turned music venue will be called Union Transfer.

As we first reported, the venue will see Philadelphia’s R5 Productions and Four Corners Management’s Avram Hornik partnering. Michael Klein adds that New York booking company Bowery Presents will also be involved. The venue hopes to open by September.

As for why Union Transfer, that was the name of the turn of the century building occupant and as Philadelphia Ghost Sign Project documents, you can still see the painted sign on the building.
