And the Winner of PHS & Philadelphia Wedding’s Greatest Groom Contest Is …
On November 18th, we launched our second Greatest Groom contest, this time in partnership with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society who were giving away a free wedding (at the Philadelphia Flower Show!) and an all-expenses-paid honeymoon to Ireland for one deserving Philadelphia couple.
Well, we received such a stack of submissions that it was hard to close our little pink folder, and we here at PW and everyone at PHS fell in love with so many amazing couples. But there was one that stood out—the story of a Philadelphia teacher and a Philadelphia police officer—and that we kept coming back to, and so it is they who will be tying the knot on March 5th—Wedding Wednesday—at the Flower Show.
Congrats to Roxanne Wilson and Frank Kennedy!
We’ve been working with Roxanne and Frank to plan their wedding since they were selected about a month ago, and it’s been awesome! (And special props to Frank for not freaking out—they had gotten engaged just a few weeks before finding out they were getting married in just another matter of weeks, and Frank didn’t even know Roxanne had entered them!)
Just two days after finding out they won, Roxanne got her dress at Unveiled with the help of owner Frannie Erace, and she’s working out the details of her Big-Day look with the fab people at Salon Norman-Dee. They’ve been in touch with Todd Zimmerman at Bryn Mawr’s Pictures by Todd, and the fine folks at Robertson’s Flowers, who are taking care of their party’s decor, and at the Loew’s Hotel, where Frank and Roxanne will spend their wedding night. Their guests already have invites in their hot little hands from Papertree Studio, and the happy couple is deciding when they’re going to take their totally amazeballs honeymoon to Ireland courtesy of Tourism Ireland!
Their wedding will be happening the same night as Philadelphia Wedding‘s big event (more on that later!), and we just can’t wait! And actually, the ceremony starts at 5:30pm on the floor of the Flower Show, and is open to the public; all you’ve got to have is a ticket to either the Flower Show or the Wedding Wednesday event, which you can purchase online.
Please join us in congratulating them and wishing them an amazing night and all the best as newlyweds!
