The Idiopathic Ridiculopathy Consortium revives the enchanting, rarely performed French classic Ondine. The show, based on an 1811 novella by Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué, debuted on Broadway in 1954 with Audrey Hepburn playing the lead. (Fun fact: She was wearing her Ondine costume the night she won the Best Actress Oscar for Roman Holiday.) Philly puppet arts master Aaron Cromie directs. The African American Museum is hosting a Wine Mixer. The mix-and-mingle event will feature work by photographer Ricky Codio, music by Mel Alston Jr. & Sap Sounds and a fashion showcase of work by designers Mah Jing Wong and Christopher J. Brown. The colorful (and hairy) Bearded Ladies Cabaret resurrect film icon Marlene Dietrich in “Marlene and the Machine: A German Expressionist Cabaret.” When the show was performed in 2012, the Inquirer called it a “a 90-minute tutorial on manipulating others by mastering your own emotions.” Inspect dudes in drag, frayed lederhosen and tunes by composer Friedrich Hollaender that Miss Dietrich made famous back in the day. East Passyunk is hosting its all-day Second Saturday block party. Businesses up and down the Avenue will be open and offering deals and free samples to whoever stops by. Among the most-tempting pitstops is the Bottle Shop, who will be holding a Left Hand Brewery beer sampling (5 p.m.-7 p.m.); HOME and Occasionette are hosting “Galentines” gatherings with nibbles and sips from Spodee wine (5 p.m.-8 p.m.); and Frame Fatale is celebrating its third anniversary with a pop-up shop with Studio KMO. Philly arts non-profit InLiquid is celebrating 15 years of dedication to the local art community with its annual Silent Auction Benefit and party hosted by Maria Papadakis.
