The Look: Black On Black (On Black)
Alana Tosti is in charge of sales and marketing for Philadelphia Wedding (Wedding Wednesday at the PHS Flower Show? She launched the first one) and she’s also a new mom. What’s equally as impressive as her work-baby juggling act? The fact that she wore those nearly six-inch-high YSL boots when she was eight months pregnant. Here, a peek at what’s on this former New Yorker’s style roster.
The Look: Alice + Olivia dress from Per Lei in Media; Nicole Miller leather bomber jacket; YSL boots; Marc by Marc Jacobs necklace; vintage Elsa Peretti earrings from Tiffany & Co. (“They were never actually sold in stores. My mom used to work with Elsa at Tiffany’s and she collected a lot of cool pieces that never made it to market.”)
My Style: “I used to live in New York so I own a lot of black. I do make an effort to buy more colorful pieces now, but my style has always been a little edgy. I like mixing highs and lows, like a Theory blazer over an H&M dress or a Chanel bag with a Gap sweater. My favorite designer is DVF, and I’m a huge fan of leather, lace and zippers on everything. I believe that a great shoe can make anyone feel fabulous. I have a little bit of a shoe obsession actually.”
Where I Shop: “All over the world! My favorite pair of shoes are from Harrods in London, but Philadelphia has some amazingly cool boutiques that have great finds. If I am looking for something new to wear to a Philly Mag event, I visit South Moon Under or Knit Wit on Chestnut Street, or BCBG and Intermix on Walnut Street. For something dressier I go to Nicole Miller in The Bellevue or Saks Fifth Avenue in Bala Cynwyd, and for everyday staples (for me or the baby!) I love to shop at Gap.”
