Do This Now: Build a Boat!
Sure, you could sign up for ASL classes at the Main Line Night School or the Bryn Mawr Film Institute’s Film Education series, but far more out of
left field for a wintertime activity is the Independence Seaport Museum’s
hands-on boatbuilding seminar. If you can spare two weekends and $300, you
can learn what it takes to construct your own seafaring vessel, from making
unsinkable plans to planking and something called "spar-making". Class size is limited (and obviously so many people have been chomping at the bit to learn how to build their own boat) so register now.
