Morning Headlines: J. Crew Outlet Is Coming to the Philly Suburbs!


First Madewell–J. Crew’s sister store–chose Walnut Street for its newest location. And now J. Crew Factory–the store’s outlet–comes to the ’burbs.

The commercial real estate group PREIT has announced that the Factory will open at the Plaza Shops at Plymouth Meeting Mall in the fall. Imagine: 6,000 square feet of J. Crew–but less expensive.

Passyunk Post has interesting news: An outdoor food and flea market/ events space has been proposed for the vacant lot at Broad and Washington.
• Oh, boy: There’s something rotten in the state of Chesco regarding a land deal, the Main Line Times reports. “Accusations of high euthanasia rates and lack of management aren’t the only issues…” There are also claims of “wrongdoing over a land deal that detractors say was fishy from the start.”
• In less depressing Main Line Times news, the Bryn Mawr Film Institute has reopened after an interior renovation, and the seats are phenomenal.
