Injury Update: Vick Limited Wednesday
As Michael Vick came trotting off the field Wednesday afternoon, he smiled at reporters in search of an update.
“Felt good,” he said. “Got a full practice in.” He later added that he participated in seven-on-seven drills and that the hamstring is loosening up. However, he was listed as a limited participant on the team’s official injury report.
Vick was limited Tuesday as well. Kelly continues to say that the quarterback is day-to-day.
Patrick Chung, who has been sidelined with an ailing shoulder, was listed as a full participant today. Billy Davis on Tuesday described the safety’s injury as “unique” and suggested Chung would be part of a rotation to start once cleared to play. Asked what was unique about Chung’s injury, Chip Kelly responded:
“He’s got a shoulder. If that’s unique, that’s unique. I don’t get into the specific injuries. He hurt his shoulder. They just tell me how long he’s out for, and we’re hopeful we’re going to get him back.”
As for the rest of the injury report:
Brandon Boykin (groin), Donnie Jones (left foot) and Chris Polk (ankle) were all limited. Connor Barwin (knee) and Jason Peters (finger) were full participants.
DeSean Honored
DeSean Jackson was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after catching seven balls for 132 yards and a touchdown against the Giants on Sunday. He beat out Tony Romo, who threw for 506 yards and five touchdowns against Denver but was intercepted down the stretch in a 51-48 loss.
