Real Local Flavor
“Real local flavor” is the tagline for the region’s new Philly Homegrown initiative, a marketing campaign aiming to promote locally grown and produced food from the region. A collective effort of the DVRPC, GPTMC and the William Penn Foundation, the two year initiative will build awareness of the local food scene from producers to restaurants.
As part of the plan, the Philly Homegrown web site has been launched at food.visitphilly.com. Â The site includes food tour itineraries for visitors and locals plus a guide to farms and farmers’ markets.
