Eagles Agree To Terms With OT Michael Bamiro

With training camp set to open next week, the Eagles are continuing to shape their roster.

The team has agreed to terms with Stony Brook offensive tackle Michael Bamiro.

Mike Garafolo of FoxSports.com was first with the report.

Bamiro (6-8, 335) worked out for 15 to 20 teams last week, per Rob Rang of CBSSports.com. In addition to his height, Bamiro has mammoth arms (36 1/8 inches).

Bamiro, 22, was poised to play one more season at Stony Brook, but he was ruled ineligible and an appeal was denied earlier this month. The reason? He attended Pittsburgh-Titusville back in 2008 as a student. Although he did not participate in athletics, the NCAA ruled that still counted towards his eligibility. Because of transfer rules, he sat out in 2009 before starting three seasons at Stony Brook.

According to Garafolo, Bamiro has been training with ex-Eagle Tra Thomas:

An NFC personnel director whose team will attend Bamiro’s workout told FOX Sports last week, “He’s a (good) prospect. Good size and ability. He’d probably be a fifth- or sixth-round pick, though I don’t know how much tape people have watched of him.”

Greg Logan of Newsday caught up with Bamiro earlier this month:

The sudden turn of events has been life-changing. “It’s intense, almost surreal,” Bamiro said in a telephone interview. “One minute I was living in my dorm and now I’m training to be a professional athlete.”

More to come.
