Just Listed: Contemporary Trinity in Fairmount
This trinity in a part of the city not known for them got a remake that made it ideal for living, entertaining and working from home.
Trinity lovers in search of that perfect little house usually flock to Washington Square West and Bella Vista, the two city neighborhoods with the greatest number of trinities for sale.
After that, if they haven’t found the trinity of their dreams yet, they may turn to Queen Village, to Bella Vista’s east, or the little alleys of Rittenhouse Square, to Wash West’s west. Or they might also try Northern Liberties, where the occasional trinity also pops up.
But sometimes, the perfect house pops up in a place you wouldn’t expect it to. Like this Fairmount contemporary trinity house for sale, for instance.
Generally speaking, buyers in search of trinities don’t look to Fairmount first because so few of that neighborhood’s trinities come on the market. They might want to reconsider that decision after taking a look at this updated beauty.
The update occurred a while back, as both the faux-mansard roof on the front facade and the white appliances in its main-floor kitchen should indicate. (That roof and some other elements date the makeover to the 1970s or 1980s.) But it was a thorough one that made the most of each of this house’s three above-ground floors.
The main floor became an eat-in kitchen with a large island that can seat five. That means you can actually have friends and relatives over for dinner.
And in good weather, you could entertain even more people by extending your party out to the rear patio, through the sliding glass doors at the back of the kitchen. This patio is one of two outdoor spaces that come with this trinity.
The other one lies beyond the sliding glass doors at the back of the second-floor living room.
This deck partly covers and partly overlooks the patio below.
The living room itself can also be used for both personal relaxation and gracious entertaining. Built-in shelves with an exposed-brick backdrop can serve as a media center. And it can also support working from home, as it has room enough for a desk.
The remake also gave this house what you might call a primary suite on the top floor.
That floor is split longitudinally between the primary bedroom and the bathroom. (“Primary” because one could always put a sofabed in the living room and use it as a guest bedroom too.) The vaulted ceiling creates a loft storage space over the bathroom and closet.
The bathroom, of course, is separate from the bedroom, since guests have to use it, too, but it is convenient to have it on the same floor as the bedroom.
Living here is also convenient: convenient to the Art Museum, convenient to Fairmount Park, the Azalea Garden and the Schuylkill River Trail, convenient to many fine restaurants along nearby Fairmount Avenue, and convenient to the rest of the city thanks to three nearby SEPTA bus routes, one of which runs northbound past this house’s front door.
Configured this way, this Fairmount contemporary trinity house for sale is perfect for a single individual or childless couple. With storage space and laundry facilities in its basement, it should accommodate the needs of either for a good little while.
