Eagles vs. Packers 2016: Game Time, TV Schedule, Online Streaming, Channel, Odds and More

The Philadelphia Eagles’ 2016 NFL schedule continues this week as the team is set to play the Green Bay Packers (4-6) on Monday night. The Eagles (5-5) are looking to remain undefeated at home.

The Eagles are also looking to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Birds will only be 0.5 games back on a wild card spot if Philadelphia can defeat Green Bay.

Monday night’s matchup seems to favor the Eagles on paper. Green Bay has really struggled recently. The Packers are riding a four-game losing streak where they’ve allowed an average of 38.25 points per game.

It’s not all bad for the Packers. Green Bay still has that Aaron Rodgers guy, who isn’t too bad at football. Rodgers poses a big challenge when he’s playing his best football. He’ll be sure to test the Eagles’ secondary.

The Eagles will also be looking to test Green Bay’s secondary. The Packers are giving up the most yards per pass attempt in the NFL. This is a game where Carson Wentz should be primed to shine.

Of course, Wentz won’t be able to beat the Packers by himself. The rookie quarterback needs his teammates to catch his passes, and that’s something they’ve struggled to do this season. It remains to be seen if Nelson Agholor will even be active on Monday night.

Two players who definitely won’t be active include starting running back Ryan Mathews and fill-in right tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai. Rookie rusher Wendell Smallwood is expected to get a lot of carries since Mathews is out and Darren Sproles is dealing with a rib injury. Left guard Allen Barbre will start at tackle while Stefen Wisniewski fills in at Barbre’s usual spot.

This game might not be a cake-walk for the Eagles since the Packers are desperate to keep their season alive and Rodgers can be dangerous. But this is a very winnable game for the Birds. Philadelphia is 4-0 at home this season. They’ve outscored opponents 108 to 38 in those tilts. The Packers, meanwhile, are only 1-4 on the road this year. Monday night marks the Packers’ third straight road game, which is an added difficulty for them.

A win for the Eagles would mean Philadelphia’s playoff hopes are still very much alive. A loss to the Packers wouldn’t mathematically eliminate the Birds but they wouldn’t be in good shape at all.
