Baby, It’s Cold Outside
We are hoping and praying that today’s weather doesn’t signal the start of an extended freezing spell like last winter’s “Polar Vortex” did. But it’s going to be cold today.
An “Alberta clipper” — a fast-moving storm that comes from Alberta, Canada should move into our area between 6 and 7 a.m., bringing with it light snow in and around Philadelphia.
The snow will move into our region from the west and then gradually moving east as temps hover in the teens or 20s.
6ABC anticipates several chilly days:
WEDNESDAY: Clouds mix with some sun. It’s blustery and still very cold. A passing snow shower is possible, but no additional accumulation is expected. The high is 28. Overnight, it gets very bitter. The overnight low in Philadelphia is 11. The record low for this overnight period is 2.
THURSDAY: This is a day of bitter cold, the worst of the season, so far. It’s mostly sunny, but brisk with a high of only 22.
And the National Weather Service offers this outlook:
To sum up: Bundle up!
