7 Shows to See in Philly This Week: Usher, Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder, Caribou and More
Get our weekly picks of what to do this weekend and the latest on Philly's arts and entertainment scene.

Monday: Johnny Marr ($22-24)
When Johnny Marr formed The Smiths at age 18 in 1982, his guitar sounded totally new and fresh. Over 30 years later, the man who created the sound of one of the most important bands of the '80s is still playing those wonderfully clangy, familiar tunes. Check out his new solo material mixed with The Smiths hits—just don't ask about Morrissey. Listen before you go: "Easy Money." Monday, November 10th with Meredith Sheldon, Union Transfer, 8:00 p.m., 1026 Spring Garden Street.

Tuesday: Usher ($39.50-175)
Get ready for some dancing, crooning, and surprise guests from "The UR Experience." Usher's latest tour includes an action-packed set list with new music and hits spanning his entire 20-year career. These days, Usher is a busy man: He's working on his eighth studio album and just finished filming his role as Sugar Ray Leonard in the upcoming Roberto Duran biopic Hands of Stone. Listen before you go: "Good Kisser." Tuesday, November 11th with August Alsina and DJ Cassidy, Wells Fargo Center, 7:30 p.m., 3601 South Broad Street.

Wednesday: Shaggy ($20)
Throw it back to 2000 with Shaggy this week. Back then, the Jamaican-American singer flew onto the scene with single "It Wasn't Me." What's he been up to since? Well, he's been making reggae tunes over seven albums and collaborating with artists like Eve, Sean Paul, Sean Kingston, and local The Voice contestant Matthew Schuler. Listen before you go: "Angel." Wednesday, November 12th with DJ Champe, Theatre of Living Arts, 8:00 p.m., 334 South Street.

Thursday: Caribou ($18-20)
Dan Snaith, a.k.a. Caribou, just released his latest album, Our Love, on October 6th and it's already garnering good reviews. Caribou's music was influenced by hip-hop and R&B this time around, and the Canadian musician has mixed up his electronica/psychedelic sound for the new album. Don't miss what is sure to be a unique performance. Listen before you go: "Can't Do Without You." Thursday, November 13th with Jessy Lanza, Union Transfer, 8:00 p.m., 1026 Spring Garden Street.

Friday: Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness ($29.50)
Since leading Something Corporate as its primary singer-songwriter, Andrew McMahon has released music under the moniker Jack's Mannequin, his own name, and now as Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. Through all of this, he's retained his peppy pop-punk sound and has just released a new album. Now if only he'd stick with one name, for discography's sake. Listen before you go: "Cecilia and the Satellite." Friday, November 14th with Hunter Hunted and Junior Prom, Electric Factory, 7:30 p.m., 421 North 7th Street.
