Pa. Liquor Control Board Warns It May Have Sold You Exploding Wine

The state tells consumers to dispose of Indigenous Selections Prosecco Brut 2013 as quickly as possible. The wine was on sale earlier this month.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board warned consumers Tuesday afternoon it may have sold you wine that could explode. The LCB is telling people to dispose of Indigenous Selections Prosecco Brut 2013 as quickly as possible.

”Consumers should use caution when handling this product,” Chairman Joseph E. Brion said in the release. ”While we have not had any reports from consumers who may have been affected, we want to take every precaution in order to avoid a safety issue. Those who purchased the product can contact their local Fine Wine & Good Spirits Store for a full refund.”

The wine was sold in 180 stores for $12.99 as a Chairman’s Selection starting earlier in June. “Color: Light straw yellow. Bouquet: White peaches, flowers and sweet spice” is how the state described the bomb wine. “Taste: Minerals, candied apple and white peaches, the wine possesses excellent energy and focus all the way through to a creamy finish, where it blossoms nicely.”

Customers can get a refund at their local LCB stores. Customers are not expected to bring back the bottle, but “an original receipt will be helpful in processing the return.” Email lbconsumer@pa.gov with any questions.
