UPDATE Driver in Tracy Morgan Crash Hadn’t Slept for 24 Hours
[Update 11:14 a.m.] AP reports:
The Wal-Mart truck driver from Georgia accused of triggering a crash in New Jersey that critically injured Tracy Morgan and killed another comedian had not slept for more than 24 hours.
The information about 35-year-old Kevin Roper’s lack of sleep is contained in a criminal complaint.
Roper makes a first court appearance on Wednesday.
[Original 5:50 a.m.] CNN reports that Tracy Morgan’s condition is improving following a weekend limo crash in New Jersey.
He has been more responsive, which is an incredibly encouraging sign,” publicist Lewis Kay said Sunday.
The wreck took place about 1 a.m. Saturday when the limo van Morgan was in was hit by a tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike, police said.
The collision killed Morgan’s fellow passenger, comedian James McNair — who performed under the name Jimmy Mack.
The driver of the truck faces criminal charges; Morgan had performed Friday night at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, Delaware.
