Down to the Wire for Mother’s Day
We’re down to the wire for Mother’s Day plans and if you haven’t made them, or your siblings have dropped the ball, here are some suggestions that might make you the hero child.
The usual candidates fill up fast for Mother’s Day but here are some new spots that are worth considering:
Petruce et al – The newish Walnut Street spot is using Mother’s Day as an excuse to try out brunch. Just check out these croissants and then hit OpenTable up for reservations.
Crow and the Pitcher — An even newer restaurant, Alex Capasso’s new spot off of Rittenhouse Square if offering a menu of unusual dishes including a foie grasPB&J and a French Toast burger.
Morgan’s Pier – Was mom a fan of Carla Goncalves’s pastries at Koo Zee Doo and the Ugly American? Then get her down to Morgan’s Pier where Goncalves’s biscuits will serve as the base for eggs, smoky gravy and preserves.
Society Hill Society – This new spot is offering a hot Sunday brunch that includes duck scrapple egg skillet and Sticky Bun French Toast,
Treemont – It’s not quite brunch but a 3 p.m. meal will get you back home in plenty of time to watch Game of Thrones and Mad Men.
