I know, I know—why are we talking about Octoberfest in April?, you ask. Here’s why: Because the Yuengling Light Lager Jogger, the brewery’s springtime 5K that’s coming up this weekend, is always a quick sell-out, so I wanted to give you plenty of lead time on Yuengling’s just-announced second race on tap for later this year.

Registration for the inaugural Yuengling Oktoberfest 5K just opened, so you’ll want to jump on this stat. The timed race, on October 5th, is part of Bethlehem, PA’s, Oktoberfest festivities this fall. It will include “German-themed elements throughout the course” (intrigue!), according to a press release, and finishers will get an edible gingerbread finishers’ medal. You’ll also get a race shirt, beer stein, and two free beers at the finish line, as well as VIP access and free admission to the other Oktoberfest activities that day.

The race will be capped at 5,000 runners; awards will be handed out to the top overall finishers, as well as age-group winners. It’ll take place in Bethlehem’s SteelStacks complex. More info is here.
