Skateboarding + Landscape Architecture + Urban Planning Mashup Hits Kickstarter

Franklin’s Paine Park is one of Philadelphia’s most exciting public space projects, in part because it can’t be easily categorized. It’s a mixed tape crafted by an unlikely crew — one that should probably be immortalized in a movie like Ocean’s 11. Partners include city and state commissions and departments, politicians; GPTMC; the Philadelphia Sports Congress; development corps; ad agencies; skate organizations; landscape/urban planners; and the ghost of Ed Bacon. Imagine Tony Hawk eloping with Babette Josephs, and you get the idea.
