If you thought women's lib’ was dead, you can prove yourself wrong at Women’s Way's annual event, where feminism's best and brightest recount the movement's past achievements and chart its goals for the future. Brenda Jorett of WHYY's Morning Edition will moderate an armchair discussion with Governor Ed Rendell and feminist leaders Eleanor Smeal and Rebecca Walker, whom Time magazine named one of the 50 most promising future leaders of America. Eleanor Smeal owns bragging rights for pushing a half-dozen acts of Congress from 1977 to 1994. As the largest and oldest women’s fund-raising organization in the country, this year’s annual Women’s Way event celebrates its 30th birthday with its biggest, most female-empowering event to date — featuring a networking cocktail hour and seated dinner before Gov. Rendell gets seated between Smeal and Walker. Lest us not forget, “Women's rights are human rights.”
