A Sneak Peek Inside Philly’s New Bloomingdale’s Outlet

Philly’s new Bloomingdale’s Outlet Store is set to open this Friday, December 11 in the heart of downtown at the Shops at Liberty Place. This 22,700 square-foot space is filled with the designer brands and luxe styles that can be found at the retailer’s standard stores, plus items unique to the outlet, all at discounted prices (up to 70 percent off retail). We got an exclusive tour of the new space. Take a peek inside the doors before they open to the public this Friday at 9:30 am.

The women’s shoe section is broken up by shoe size, features brands like Vince and Coach, and contains all the booties your heart could desire.

While the jewelry section is a bit smaller than we would have hoped, the fur coats left me daydreaming about winter parties and sleigh rides. Don’t miss the eyewear selection behind jewelry, with style for men and women.

Over in the denim section, you’ll find brands like True Religion, Hudson and Joe’s Jeans. All women’s jeans are under $120. Contemporary clothing include brands like French Connection and Free People. One major misstep: The store does not carry any plus-size or petites clothing.

Over by the registers, you’ll find a tiny-but-mighty home section. Go here for cute last-minute gifts, like desk supplies, candles and drinkware.

The store’s selection of women’s cocktail and formal dresses is impressive. (Hint: Come here before your NYE party.) The store averages price points at 25 to 70 percent off retail prices.

The menswear section is stocked with name-brand suits at lower price points, and racks of outerwear that are sure to be picked over by the end of the weekend. The store offers mobile checkout to expedite your shopping process. Instead of waiting at the register lines, flag down a store employee and pay for your purchase on their mobile app.

The color-coded tie selection is impressive, as well as the aisles full of dress shirts. Tip: If you’ve shopping at the store opening this weekend, go straight to the selection of men’s sweaters and denim.

While the store carries a sizable collection of faux furs, nothing beats the real thing, especially in fun, unexpected colors and silhouettes.

While the kid’s section is a bit limited, they shine in shoe selection. They also carry brands like Stuart Weitzman and Michael Kors for the luxe little ones in your life.

Top-handle bags in bright hues line the front of the accessories section, but don’t pass them by – the entire corner of the store contains aisles of bags tucked away.
