Attention Coffee-Loving Couples: #StarbucksWedding Is Now A Thing

Of all the wedding hashtags we’ve seen over the years, #StarbucksWedding is definitely one of the more mind-boggling, albeit entertaining, ones. If you haven’t yet heard of it, the hashtag is quite self-explanatory: Coffee-loving couples across the country are getting hitched—bridal party and all, in some cases—at their local Starbucks. And the evidence is right there on Instagram.
I mean, after I heard about last year’s trend of Hong Kong couples getting married at McDonalds, #StarbucksWedding is not all too surprising (though the fact that an actual hashtag exists is pretty funny). Especially if the couple met at Starbucks, had their first date there or gets coffee together every morning, I can see the significance of saying I Do amongst the paper cups and pastries. Is it an ideal wedding venue? For most, probably not really, but it’s definitely a unique option if you’re into that sort of thing.
So far—currently, there are 100 pictures under the hashtag—we’ve seen photos of both casually-dress couples who chose to tie the knot in a low-key kind of way, and couples who went all out with the white dress, bridesmaids and a full-on ceremony. The range of photos are quite hilarious to look through—not to mention the many coffee puns, like “I promise to love you a latte,” that go along with them. Take a look for yourself here.
