Pennsylvania has no shortage of wineries — hundreds of them pepper the state — and while not all of them will host your wedding, a number of them will. (Many local breweries will, too.) And they serve as gorgeous backdrops to your celebration: rolling vineyards thick with green leaves and plump grapes in the summer (or that stand bare and ethereal in the winter), picturesque buildings and, of course, plenty to drink. And, they’re all within two hours of Philly. Explore some of the Philadelphia-area winery wedding venues below, and if your favorite isn’t on the list, share it with us at kschott@phillymag.com. Cheers to you!

This 200-year-old estate’s shaded ceremony lawn features a garden — complete with a fountain and flowers — and lush vines, making it a scenic space to say “I do” and snap a few sunset photos. On Friday evenings year-round, couples can celebrate in the indoor winery building with up to 75 guests; from May to October, they also have the option to enjoy the outdoor Vistas at the Vineyard tent with up to 175 attendees. Only one wedding takes place a day here, and the property’s bridal suite houses a full bathroom and kitchen, mirrored makeup room, and designer touches such as custom wallpaper and draperies. 1853 Wrightstown Road.

Folino Estate Winery

You could head to Italy for a destination wedding — or you can take a much shorter journey to Folino Estate Winery. The 4,000-square-foot ballroom is inspired by the vineyards of Italy and accommodates up to 200 of your friends and family members for a reception. Your ceremony can be held outside in a vine-draped gazebo overlooking 54 acres of well-manicured property. You’ll have a wine-tasting bar stocked with Folino vinos (you and your partner can select from pinot grigio, chardonnay and more), and your wedding will be the only one on-site that day. A toast! 340 Old Route 22.

Tie the knot amid the sky-high trees of the venue’s Sweetwater Woods then raise a glass to your future in the historic 1750s bank barn. Renovated in late 2020, the rustic barn can hold up to 140 guests. (Other locations on property are available for smaller events, such as rehearsal dinners.) Expect timeless, rustic touches and a seasonal, farm-to-table menu from caterers like Neuman’s Kitchen or Sage Catering. But act fast: The 2022 season is already booked. 50 Sweetwater Road.

Renault Winery

Built in 1864, Renault Winery is among the country’s oldest wineries and will transport you to the French countryside — without leaving South Jersey. The sprawling 1,400-acre property has four main wedding spaces (Vineyard Ballroom, Champagne Ballroom, the Pavilion and Château Ballroom), each with its own outdoor courtyard for ceremonies. The largest of them, the Pavilion, can hold up to 400 people. Hold your nuptials at the ceremony-only Le Vin; it sits among the grape vines and is encircled by bistro lights. Later, sip champagne (Renault is the largest distributor in the U.S.) and dance the night away. 72 North Bremen Avenue.

Rose Bank Winery

This Bucks County destination has several event spaces for your Big Day, so you’ll have plenty of leeway to personalize your celebration. Among our favorites is the charming Rose ballroom. Its large windows (and your 250 guests) look out on the Southdown Babydoll sheep that roam the pasture. There’s a bridal suite as well as an adjoining cocktail area in the Buckman Barn. 258 Durham Road.

Sand Castle Winery

Rather than model its iconic building after the castles of Europe, the folks here found inspiration in the sand castles you might see on the beach. (Particularly those of the more intricate design.) It makes for a unique setting for a wedding. The Grand Hall, located on the second floor, is tops for an intimate gathering with 40 to 60 attendees. Large cathedral windows and a private balcony provide a peek at the vineyards. From mid-April to early November, couples can celebrate with between 80 and 225 guests in the tented Garden Pavilion, which boasts views of the Delaware River. On-site ceremonies are included for no additional cost. 755 River Road.

Willow Creek Winery & Farm

Cape May

If you can’t decide between a seaside resort or a countryside estate, this Cape May destination offers the best of both worlds. The 50-acre property can accommodate up to 600 guests for your Big Day and has various indoor and outdoor venues. The tasting rooms are a highlight, with hand-carved beams and dazzling crystal chandeliers. Packages can be customized to include options such as horse-drawn carriage rides and a hotel stay at their sister property, the Southern Mansion. 168 Stevens Street.
