It’s been a few weeks since the Phillies traded Carlos Ruiz, and he’s hitting .154 in 13 at-bats as the Dodgers’ backup catcher. His team, however, is headed to the playoffs — so things are pretty good for him.
And, on I-95 in Philadelphia, Ruiz has decided to thank Phillies fans with a billboard. Inquirer Phillies beat writer Matt Gelb snapped a photo of the Chooch billboard and posted it to Twitter this morning.
“I loved playing for you,” the billboard reads. “You will always be in my heart. Thank you, Philly!” Jeez, this sounds like a breakup letter. I guess it might make some Phillies fans tear up, so it fits.
