J.P. Miranda, Sister Plead to Corruption Charges
Former North Philadelphia state rep hired "ghost employee" with taxpayer dollars.
Former North Philly State Rep. J.P. Miranda and his sister, Michelle Wilson, pleaded guilty to corruption charges on Tuesday.
“Miranda and his sister were scheduled to stand trial Wednesday on corruption charges the Philly district attorney hit them with early last year,” Fox 29 reports. “Those charges came after FOX 29 Investigates revealed Miranda was paying a worker who just never showed up.”
Tax dollars budgeted for the ghost worker were instead funneled to Wilson, authorities said. Miranda and Wilson will be sentenced in March.
