Invitation Ideas
When it comes to wedding invitations there is so much you have to consider! Color, size, design... It is time to break out of the ordinary and get creative. What was your unique wedding invitation idea?
Our wedding was a "destination" wedding. I say it that way because everybody had to travel but it wasn't to a sandy beach. We had a lot of information to get to our guests so we sent with a fold out with a pocket that held RSVP, reception card, and directions/accomadations.

Start the invitation off with a short, cute, catchy poem/song that relates to the theme of your wedding.

We used a cute little invite to send out to our guest on designed paper. We included brochures, and an informative letter about the area as well. This went out a year in advance. The cost was less than 50 cents an invite got most of my stuff donated by my travel agent. Then 4 months out we sent (homemade) formal invites, but to only the people that were coming on the cruise and close family and friends. The cost was about $30 for everything for the formal invites (saved money with a smaller list).

Sending out invitations to males in the shape of tuxes (ornate 3 dimensional paper if possible) and to females in the shape of weddings dresses (or regular dresses). If there are both genders for each address, they will receive both!
