Shopping: Brilliant Encores

Sequel stores make big debuts

The Hill Company This sunny suburban sister of Chestnut Hill’s classic outdoor-living store stocks the same patio essentials — Pawleys Island hammocks, Kingsley-Bate teak, Summer Classics wicker — and accessories — pretty Murval melamine, cabana pillows, rechargeable umbrella lights — and offers free, at-home design planning.

Center Point Shopping Center, Worcester, 610-584-4020, hill-company.com.

Heirloom 21 Home staffers are thrilled that ever-dapper Taji Nahl moved his vintage-modern art and furnishings gallery — formerly Taji Modern in Old City — to Rittenhouse. Now we can score (or at least visit) his rare finds—a Gio Ponti glass and bronze side table, Harvey Prober winged armchairs, a Terry Adkins sculpture, an iconic McCobb sofa — on our lunch hour. Shown.

2007 Chestnut Street, 215-275-9926, heirloom21.net.

Studio One If Nakashima, Bertoia, Powell and their ilk make up the American craft furniture division of the New Hope School, then just-opened Studio One is the campus shop. Featuring this earthy movement’s designers exclusively, the museum-worthy collection housed in a super-cool refurbished barn is a must for serious investors and aspiring admirers.

7 North Main Street, Lambertville, 609-460-4417.

Terrain at Styer’s The just-born love child of historic J. Franklin Styer and youthful Urban Outfitters is an 11-acre sanctuary of pure plant life. Well, plants and a Thai temple, dozens of fountains, rugged-chic indoor-outdoor furnishings, imported botanical skincare, a greenhoused locavore café — with nary an “I ♥ my garden” sign or becharmed Croc in sight.
