Neshaminy Creek Brewing, which has been thriving at their Bucks County home, has announced it is expanding to Philadelphia with a taproom. The brewery has signed a lease for 957 Frankford Avenue, across from the Fillmore.

The brewery is taking advantage of a newly created advantage for Pennsylvania brewers. The change in the PLCB code allows breweries to open two satellite locations without the expense and time of adding another license.

Neshaminy is aiming to open the tap room by October 2016. And then they will add a brewery to the location by early 2017. As the brewery said in a post on Facebook, this is all pending Fishtown Neighborhood Association OK and zoning approval.

Neshaminy’s Tap Room will join nearby Yards Brewery, the upcoming new location of Philadelphia Distilling at the Fillmore and further down Frankford Avenue, the planned Evil Genius brewpub. And then there’s the brewpub that’s in the very early stages at 1101 Frankford Avenue, just across from Barcade.
