University of the Sciences Offers Brewing Science Certificate

USciences is offering a post-baccalaureate program to learn brewing.

For all of you beer lovers out there, you may just be able to make your drinking passion into a professional brewing career. The University of Sciences is offering the first Brewing Science Certificate program in the mid-Atlantic region.

With the craft brewing industry booming, the United States opens about 1.5 breweries per day, according to program director Dr. Peter B. Berget, the program will teach the science of beer.

The Brewing Science Certificate at USciences is a post-baccalaureate, 18-credit program. Students will study biology, chemistry, physics and math and afterwards have an internship with one of the University of Science’s local brewery partners.

The program can be completed in one year if full-time and two years part-time.
