Next time you’re tempted to grumble about Comcast’s customer service, remember this: At least you’re getting America’s fastest Internet speeds as part of your deal with the company, at least among major providers..

BGR reports: “SpeedTest.net this week announced its first-ever awards for ISPs in the U.S. and it found that Comcast’s Xfinity was the fastest overall service with an average download speed of just under 105Mbps and an average upload speed of 12.7Mbps.

“Following Comcast were Time Warner Cable, which had an average download speed of 99.1Mbps; Cox Cable, with an average download speed of 94Mbps; Verizon FiOS, with an average download speed of 83.4Mbps; and Charter, with an average download speed of 66.3Mbps.”

In Pennsylvania , Comcast’s advantage in download speeds was even more pronounced, with a nearly 12Mbps advantage over the second-place provider, RCN. One exception to the rule: Verizon FIOS provides superfast upload speeds — at nearly 87Mbps, which quadruples the speed of any other major provider in the state.
