Attention, working moms and dads of Philadelphia: Midtown Village yoga studio, Mama’s Wellness Joint, just added two new baby-friendly classes to the roster that actually work with a working-mom’s schedule. {Insert all the happy emojis here.} The new classes will kick off this Saturday, November 7th.

The classes are age-delineated. So the noon class, called Mama’s Movin’, is for moms (or dads!) and babies who are crawling and up to four years old. The 1 p.m. class is called Mommy & Me, and it’s suited for babies between six weeks of age to pre-crawlers.

Owner Paige Chapman added the class to her schedule after my post back in September about the lack of fitness classes for working moms. At the time, she was definitely sympathetic, but we agreed to gauge the reaction from my post to see if there was a real interest. Well, guess what, you guys? Interest there was, and so this class was born. Ask and ye shall receive.

I should mention that in the meantime, I’ve been plenty busy hauling my kid to Mommy & Me Bootcamp on Saturday mornings with Kasey Manwaring from GoalsFit. She launched the class after my post, too, and I’ve been working out with a regular group of moms, dads and babies every Saturday morning since the beginning of October. We’ve got two more sessions until the series is done in November 14th — Feel free to join us! Here’s the info. — but after that, you’d better believe I’ll be taking my son, Noah, with me to Mama’s on Saturday afternoons.

Oh! And I almost forgot the best part: At Mama’s, you can bring a spouse or partner for an extra $5. (It’s $15 for the first parent.) For Kasey’s class on Saturdays, spouses/partners can come for free. (It’s $20 for the first parent.) So, really, it’s a whole, sweaty family affair.
