Hey, Runners: Chasing Trail Is Hosting the Ultimate Movie Night for Runners

Born to Run by Christopher McDougall is basically required reading for runners. So, dear runner, if you’ve done your homework, you’ll remember ultra runner Caballo Blanco, otherwise known as Micah True, who was featured in the book. Well, now, there’s a documentary all about him called Run Free — The True Story of Caballo Blanco. And if you’ve yet to see it, here’s your chance: On Tuesday, October 27th, Philly running group Chasing Trail is hosting a movie night for runners, showing the documentary. And, of course, it’ll kick off with a pre-movie run to the theater.

The movie night will be held at Rave Cinemas University 6 at 40th and Walnut Streets, and will run you $11 bucks, with all proceeds going to Friends of the Wissahickon. Honeygrow Run Club will be leading the pre-movie run, leaving from Philadelphia Runner’s Center City store (at the corner of 16th and Sansom) at 6:30 p.m. and heading to the theater. Doors to the theater will open at 7 p.m. and the movie will start rolling at 7:30. Oh! And Chasing Trail will be doling out runner-friendly giveaways and door prizes, so you can look forward to going home with some swag.

If you want to join in on the movie night, just make sure to snag your ticket here today or tomorrow. Tomorrow, October 20th, is the last day to get tickets. And note: You don’t have to run beforehand to join in on the movie-watching action — but why wouldn’t you?
